Biography

Following the direction of the Holy Spirit, Pastor James R. Flint, Jr. accepted the call to ministry in November of 1994. He preached his first sermon on February 5, 1995 at Union Evangelistic Baptist Church in Chicago Heights, Il under the leadership of his father, Pastor James R. Flint, Sr. 

He completed his undergraduate work at Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock, Arkansas and his graduate work was completed at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Lombard, Illinois. He is also a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, incorporated.

Pastor Flint has served in various ministries in various capacities of leadership. Before accepting the call to become a Senior Pastor, he was in service as the Assistant Pastor of Union Evangelistic Baptist Church (his home church). It was with great joy and anticipation, in September of 2008, Pastor Flint accpeted the call to become Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church of Chicago. He has served as the 1st Vice President of the Greater New Era Baptist District Association Congress of Christian Education, as well as President of this great Congress. He also formerly served as the 3rd Vice President of the Baptist General State Convention of Illinois, Incorporated and is now serving as the 1st Vice President. 

Pastor Flint has a dynamic gift of preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, coupled with an anointing in the area of Praise and Worship. His ministry has touched the lives of many and continues to grow as he avails himself to God's Leadership and Authority. 

During Pastor Flint's journey, he has been priviledged to minister both nationally and internationally, and is humbled by God's favor. His philosophy is, "Faithfulness honors God, and God honors faithfulness".

Pastor Flint is married to the former Thursday Martin, and they have two children, Savannah Grace and James R. Flint, III.
